A Happy Marriage

A Happy Marriage

by Rafael Yglesias

Judy Stanton (04/03/13): In a largely autobiographical novel, Rafeal Yglesias lovingly and painfully shares, at once, the finding and the losing of the love of his life, his wife, Margaret. Living through the loss of parents and family and friends losing a lifelong mate, this book was difficult to read, very emotional and too close-to-home. Yet, it was also very real and very rich in the sharing, from a man's point-of-view, a look back at a life and a marriage, filled with triumphs and tragedies, warmth and coldness, family love and difficult relationships, the ups and downs of life.

Yglesias did a masterful job of taking the simple statement "he lost his wife" and making the reader feel the full weight of having a good marriage and then facing the loss of your life partner. :(
