Judy Stanton: This is my fourth Chris
Bohjalian book and, true to form, his subject is well researched and
his characters well developed. Before You Know Kindness is not a happy
or an easy read. It explores the topical issue of animal rights from
what might be considered an extreme position and touches on the gun
control issue as well. But, more than that, it dramatically drives
home to pull of personal commitment to a cause/job versus personal
commitment to family. I will conintue to read Bohjalian books, they
command my attention.
