Dead or Alive

Dead or Alive

by Tom Clancy and Grant Blackwood

Wanda Cohen: The saga of Jack Ryan continues with the wonderful addition of his son, Jack Jr. Unbeknownst to his dad, Jack Jr. works at "The Campus" the secret intelligence agency his Dad sat up while he was president. Those who read Clancy know Jack already and will enjoy meeting his son, a real chip off the old block. As many of his novels are, this one is wordy and detailed. It is also well written and has enough plot twists and well formed characters to keep you reading. It's a bit of a challenge to get into but well worth the effort. We also get to catch up with John Clark and his son-in-law, Ding Chaves who were made famous in earlier books by Clancy. As the current president continues to cut funds and manpower in the CIA and Homeland Security the world is watching and waiting to take it's chance to once and for all weaken America to the point of no return. Jack Jr. and "The Campus" stand in their way. Can an underfunded, undermanned and undertrained agency really accomplish what all the other agencies put together can't? Read it and see.
