The Cliff House

The Cliff House

by Rae Anne Thayne

Overview: After the death of their mother, sisters Daisy and Beatriz Davenport found a home with their aunt Stella in the beautiful and welcoming town of Cape Sanctuary. They never knew all the dreams that Stella sacrificed to ensure they had everything they’d ever need. Now, with Daisy and Bea grown, it’s time for Stella to reveal the secret she’s been keeping from them—a secret that will change their family forever.

Bea thought she’d sown all her wild oats when she got pregnant far too young. The marriage that followed was rocky and not destined to last, but it gave Bea her wonderful, mature, now eleven-year-old daughter, Marisol. But just as she’s beginning to pursue a new love with an old friend, Bea’s ex-husband resurfaces and turns their lives completely upside down.

Then there’s Daisy—sensible, rational, financially prudent Daisy. She’s never taken a risk in her life—until she meets a man who makes her question everything she thought she knew about life, love and the power of taking chances.

In this heartwarming story, Stella, Bea and Daisy will discover that the path to true happiness is filled with twists and turns, but love always leads them back home.

Deanna Boe (08/27/19): If you are into “romance” novels, this is the book for you. This is usually not my first choice, but every so often it is good to read another genre. I mean what is not to like about love, romance, and what appears to be “happily-ever-after” endings? I have never read this author before but she is an excellent writer and develops a storyline that does keep you interested even though you can practically guess the outcome. First, you have a 40 year old aunt who took on the responsibility of raising two nieces when her sister passed away. She gave up the “love-of-her-life” to do this.

The nieces are now grown and leading successful lives, although one is divorced from a world famous musician. The musician wants to be back in her life, but she is in love with her high school sweetheart. He had been a pro-football player, but is now teaching at the local high school in the “perfect” and beautiful ocean community in Northern California. The other sister owns her own successful business. Both sisters are flourishing artists, although the one is “unknown” since she uses a pseudo name. Will the storyline end with all three happily married? Guess you will have to read to find out.
