The Knitting Circle

The Knitting Circle

by Ann Hood

Faith Bowers (12/26/13): This is a story about a mother's grief for losing her perfect 5 year old daughter. The book was very sad but rang true so I enjoyed it and really could not put it down for the day and a half it too for me to finish. There are many other stories about grief and sadness from others in the knitting circle who share their Wednesday nights with Mary. After my mother died, I read a really good article about grieving how there are no rules and that it can take as long as one needs. Well this book demonstrates this concept of grieving really well. Much joy does come from the knitting circle over the course of the book, but not for everyone --- but that is what makes the book a very good read.
