Dale Israel (08/03/17): The Secret Wife by Gill Paul is a novel that alternates between 1914 and the Romanov family and 2016 and Kitty, a British woman who inherits her great-grandfather's lake cabin. Of course, there is a mystery connecting the two major characters from each time period. It's a difficult book to review. On the one hand, the storyline was entertaining and kept me engaged but the writing was trite, stilted and sophomoric which for me was a major flaw that was difficult to overlook. Good... not great.
