The Strangler

The Strangler

by William Linday

Judy Stanton (01/17/13): Because I enjoyed Landay's book Defending Jacob, I checked out The Strangler, and was not disappointed. Set in Boston in the 1960s, the book centers on the Daley family, with three sons all involved in law enforcement, but in very different ways. The story centers on solving the Boston Strangler crimes. At the same time the "whodunit" focuses on the Daley family's own personal losses, which have ties to local politicians, media and the mob. A fast-paced story, filled with a little too much gore for me, the book was a good read that kept me coming back to see how it would all turn out.
