The Well and the Mine

The Well and the Mine

by Gin Phillips

Judy Stanton (09/12/12): Life in the South in a mining town in the 1930s is portrayed in this novel through the eyes of a family of five, each taking turns sharing their perspectives on town, family and personal life experiences. A hard-working family, with good values, they are always there to help others less fortunate, and find the good in bad situations. I felt the book was kind of slow, and the family almost too righteous, t was a sweet novel, but not a compelling read.
