The Wife Between Us

The Wife Between Us

by Greer A. Hendricks and Sara Pekkanen

Overview: When you read this book, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are reading about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement – a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing.

Twisted and deliciously chilling, Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen's The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love. Read between the lies.

Deanna Boe (04/04/19): The two authors bring lots of interesting credentials to the writing of this novel, but I can’t really say they were successful in the outcome. It is different, no two ways about it, confusing at times, with an ending that left me feeling resigned to having completed another so/so book.

The first half of the book you are going between what appears to be the “ex” wife, and her soon-to-be replacement, only to discover they are one and the same person! Then when you finally get into the “real” replacement, you can’t understand what the “ex” wife is trying to accomplish with this replacement. You find yourself getting angry with the “ex” wife for not getting on with her life, everything seems so melodramatic. What can I say? This is not the worst book I have read (or I would have stopped somewhere along the line) but not the best either. I kept going since I was simply curious as to just what was going on with everything! Your call on this one!

Judy Stanton (06/19/18): A light summer read, The a Wife Between Us is a psychological drama with just enough twists and turns to keep calling the reader back to figure out whose side of the story is true. That being said, I was initially impatient, knowing the perfect marriage was too good to be true, but wanting the next shoe to fall already! Still, I have to admit it kept me engaged and guessing and consistently had unexpected surprises in store. On the surface, it’s the story of the rich, handsome guy playing Prince Charming to his wife of seven years, who, over time, feels hemmed in by his controlling her life to meet his expectations of the perfect marriage. Fun read. 3++
