Chased By Death

Chased By Death

Chased By Death is a woman-in-jeopardy novel and also a “road novel.” Maxine wants to find her long-lost sister.  Cartel kingpin Lotto wants to find Maxine and the two-million dollars her ex-husband skimmed. In a motorhome, Maxine, with boyfriend Jeff, his young daughter, and a kitten, embark on a cross-continent trek to find the sister. Maxine is smart, but Lotto is relentless. Jack Kerouac proclaimed, “The road is life!”  Will Maxine reach safety before Lotto’s goons close in or will the road be death?

About the Author Judith Copek

Judith Copek

An information systems nerd for twenty-plus years, Judith segued into writing from technology. Software’s scary aspects still inspire her.

Judith’s vacations often spin off into novels. World of Mirrors was born when Judith and her husband visited the Baltic island of Rugen shortly after the reunification of East and West Germany. Visits to Burning Man sparked Festival Madness. In Chased By Death, trips to South Florida to Northern Nevada became crucial to the story. Her current writing project is a mystery novel set a small Mennonite community in South Central Kansas.

When she is not writing, Judith likes to cook, garden, and travel. She is a member of Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, and the Short Mystery Fiction Society. In addition to an earlier novel, The Shadow Warriors, she has published poems, short stories, and memoir.

Side Note:  Judith Copek and Debbie Weiss (Womens Book Reviews) were co-workers in the early 2000's and continue to remain good friends even though Judith lives in Boston and Debbie in Atlanta.
